Visit Winston-Salem Names Christian Schroeder as Director of Sales and Services
Visit Winston-Salem today announced that Christian Schroeder has been named Director of Sales and Services. Schroeder will oversee Visit Winston-Salem’s six-member sales and services staff who are charged with promoting Winston-Salem as a site for conventions, meetings, reunions and motorcoach as well as amateur sports groups. In addition, this position is responsible for the sales teams generations of bookings, room nights and revenue consistent with Visit Winston-Salem’s goals and objectives.

International Sorority selects Winston-Salem to host 68th Regional Conference
Winston-Salem, NC, On Friday, April 23, 2010 one of the nation’s oldest historically African-American sororities, Sigma Gamma Rho, will convene at the Winston-Salem Marriott Hotel for the 68th Northeast Regional Conference. The sorority is celebrating over 87 years of existence and the Northeast Region of the sorority celebrates over 70 years of service to the community. Alpha Mu Sigma, Winston-Salem Alumnae Chapter in conjunction with Rho (Winston Salem State University) and Omicron Eta (University of North Carolina at Greensboro) undergraduate chapters will host the conference.

1st Annual Translational Regenerative Medicine Event to be hosted in Winston-Salem, NC
The Regenerative Medicine Foundation today announced the first annual Translational Regenerative Medicine Forum to be held April 6-8, 2010 at the Benton Convention Center in Winston-Salem.
The forum is an annual event to convene the regenerative medicine community to focus on fulfilling the promise of regenerative medicine, including best practices and business models. Keynote speakers and panelists will discuss scientific and clinical advances, trial design, venture funding and obtaining regulatory approval.

African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church to Meet in Winston-Salem for the First Time
The African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church Piedmont District will meet in Winston-Salem June 23-28, 2009. The conference is being hosted by Goler Memorial A.M.E. Zion Church with Reverend Dr. Seth O. Lartey the host Pastor.
According to Dr. Lartey, "the reason we are holding our convention in Winston-Salem this year is due to the spirit of cooperation and assistance from Visit Winston-Salem, the Twin City Quarter, The Millennium Center and community leaders. Everyone has been very gracious and helpful and extremely accommodating of our needs". Previous conferences have been held in Charlotte, Gastonia, Hickory and Salisbury.
