Core Facts
02/18/2010
As we move closer to “March Madness” and all the excitement that college basketball brings to our communities, remember that Winston-Salem will again take center stage in hosting the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) 2010 Basketball Tournament!
This is a call-out for volunteers to help Visit Winston-Salem officially welcome MEAC fans and provide them with helpful information during their stay here in our area. The locations (Marriott and Embassy Suites lobbies) and times are outlined below, and you can respond directly to me at brian@visitwinstonsalem.com to let me know if you’d like to help out and if so, which dates/times you are available.
Volunteers will receive a free t-shirt and complimentary MEAC tickets. Visit Winston-Salem will provide passes for parking at the Cherry St. parking decks and also a volunteer training session. This session is scheduled for Wednesday, March 3, 2010, at 5:00pm, here at the Winston-Salem Visitor Center. At that session, we’ll review collateral, sign volunteer waivers and distribute T-shirts and parking passes. If you are unable to attend, please let me know so I can schedule a time for you to come by the Visitor Center before your volunteer assignment date.
Your service of volunteering has an immeasurable impact on visitors to our city and we’ve been told time and time again just how well-received your presence at city information tables is! We greatly appreciate your support and willingness to help make Winston-Salem shine with hospitality and friendliness.
